Jennie Phillips Emmack Died Suddenly At 10:30 Last Night

Miss Jeannie Phillips Emmack, foster daughter of Mr. And Mrs. C.H. Emmack of Sherman township, died suddenly about ten o'clock last night. Her death came as a shock to her family and friends for she had not been sick and was apparently in the best of health. She had attended church yesterday and had performed her household duties in the usual manner.

Shortly after she retired at 9:30, the rest of the family was summoned by her loud calls. She went into convulsions, suffering a very severe one. Dr. Boyd was called but death came immediately after his arrival. The cause of her death is unknown.

The deceased was 18 years of age and a daughter of E. E. Phillips of Schadrow, Nebraska, but she made her home with the Emmacks since she was three and a half years old. She is a sister of Mrs. Jay Leeper, Hazel Wagley and Edward Phillips of this city.

The funeral will be held from the Metz church at 10:30 on Wednesday morning. The interment will be made in the Metz cemetery. ~ The Newton Daily News June 22, 1914.
