DIED - At the home of her son George, Friday morning, April 30th, Mrs. Anna Edwards, aged 76 years, 2 months and 12 days. The funeral was preached by Rev. Father T. A. Lampman at the M.E. church, on Sunday at 1 o'clock, to a very large congregation of relatives and friends. The remains were laid to rest in the Sams cemetery, by the side of her husband, who preceded her 12 years ago. She was the mother of ten children, seven of whom survive her. She moved with her husband to this part of Jasper county in 1847, being one of the very first settlers, living here many years before the whistle of the railroad was heard or our little town was thought of.
