James O. Dow, 85, Resident Since 1946 Dies Monday
Dow, James O.James O. Dow, 85, a resident of Jasper county since 1946, died at 10:30 p.m. Monday at his home at route 4, Newton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Toland funeral home. The Rev. Cromwell C. Cleveland, pastor of the First Christian church, will conduct the services.
Burial will be in Sugar Grove cemetery near Metz.
Mr. Dow is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Livera Berg of Estherville and Mrs. Don (Helen) Kirkman of Des Moines; a sister, Mrs. Birdie Westphall of Minneapolis, Minn., and several nieces and nephews including Ernest Dow of Newton.
The son of Albert and Mary Bammer Dow, he was born January 14, 1875 in Davis county, Iowa.
He was married to Minerve Coy, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Dow was a retired farmer.
