John W. Dow, 80, Dies Near Metz
Dow, John W.

METZ (Special) -- John William Dow, 80, retired farmer, died today at 2 a.m. at the farm home of his brother, James Dow, who lives in the Metz area.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at Toland funeral home with burial following in Sugar Grove cemetery.

Besides his brother, the deceased is survived by one sister, Mrs. Birdie Westphall of Minneapolis, Minn. Mr. Dow was born in Davis county to Albert and Mary Dow.

Dow Funeral to Be Friday Afternoon
Funeral rites for John W. Dow, 80, retired farmer who died Wednesday at the farm home of his brother near Metz, will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Toland funeral home. The Rev. John R. Binkley of First Christian church will officiate, and burial will be in Sugar Grove cemetery.

Pallbearers will be George Dammeier, Eugene Anthony, John Healy, G. E. Edgren, Victor Ross and Louis Klemme. Music will be furnished by Miss Ruth Jackson, soloist, accompanied by Mrs. R. L. Jackson. ~ The Newton (Iowa) Daily News, May 13, 1954.
