MRS. WM. DIXON DIED SUNDAY IN DES MOINES HOSP.

Funeral Services Held Tuesday Afternoon From Colfax Christian Church Mrs. Wm. Dixon, 61, died Sunday night in a Des Moines hospital, where she had been a patient for several days. She had been in poor health for some time, but her condition was not considered critical until about a week ago.

Mrs. Sarah Dixon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Vaughn passed away at the Methodist hospital Nov. 16, 1947, at the age of 61 years, 2 months and 4 days.

She was born Sept. 12, 1886 in Jasper county, where she spent the most of her life. On Dec. 24, 1902 she was united in marriage to William Dixon. To this union three children were born, all of whom are living today.

She united with the Howard Street Church of Christ in 1927, and from the ranks of this church a sister is missed.

There will be a vacancy that will be felt by her family and her many friends, but the memory of the good things she did will live on in the hearts of those left behind.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, William Dixon, two sons, William Dixon Jr. of Des Moines, Thomas Raymond Dixon of Seattle, Washington, one daughter, Mary Jane Dixon of Brookings, So. Dak., one brother, Geo. Vaughn of Colfax, and a sister Mrs. Ivan Binkerd of Colfax; also three grandchildren as well as many friends.

Funeral services were conducted from the Colfax Christian Church Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. W. E. Goughnour, pastor, officiating.

Music was furnished by Mrs. George Rinker, Mrs. Earl Plummer and Jean Binkerd, accompanist.

Pallbearers were Tom Hughes, George Stover, Dan L. Price, Henry Dolinsek, William Buckroyd and John Buckroyd.

Flower committee: Mrs. Wayne Stroup and Mrs. Ray Peterson.

Burial was had in the Colfax Cemetery.
