LAST RITES SAID FOR MRS. DIEHM
Clara Diehm (nee Weber)

Mrs. Clara Diehm, 93, of 628 Main St., died Saturday morning at the Grinnell General Hospital following an extended illness.

The daughter of Berhardt and Sophia Lisker Weber, Mrs. Diehm was born on May 2, 1877 northeast of Grinnell. She attended the rural schools in this community and on February 14, 1906, she was united in marriage to Andrew Diehm at her parents home.

Following their marriage, the couple farmed for a while and then moved to Grinnell in 1920. They had made their home in Grinnelll for the past 50 years. Mrs. Diehm's husband preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 1955.

Mrs. Diehm was baptised and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Trinity Lutheran church of Malcom and was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church and the American Lutheran Church Women. Survivors include her children - - - Benhardt Diehm of Grinnell, Mrs. Chris (Agusta) Septer of Searsboro, Mrs. Hale (Estella) Vanderveer of Grinnell, Mrs. Lester (Clara) Foster of Malcom, Arthur Diehm of Grinnell and Fred Diehm of Newton; 23 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three brothers - - - Joe, Jake, and Fred Weber all of Grinnell. Mrs. Dieham was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Andrew; three sons - - - Leonard, Joe and Garland, and one brother Willie. Funeral services for Mrs. Diehm were Monday (today) at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran church. The Rev. Marcus E. Reitz, pastor of the church, officiated.

Organist was Mrs. Doris Northnagel. Vocalist was Gordon Van Donselaar.

Pallbearers were Paul Weber, Jim Foster, David Diehm, Bert Diehm, Michael Diehm and Stepen Diehm.

Interment was in the Trinity Lustheran Cemetery at Malcom with the James- Schalinske Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
