Davis, Vinana (Hayes)

DIED ­ At the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. Hayes, Tuesday morning of consumption, Mrs. Vinana Davis, wife of J. M. Davis, aged 27 years. Mrs. Davis had been a great sufferer for several months.

Last fall her husband took her to Colorado hoping the change would help her but in this they were disappointed and a few weeks ago she was brought to her girlhood home as she said, to spend her last hours surrounded by her loved ones.

Mrs. Davis in early life gave her heart to God and through her long illness has manifested her trust in Him who has said, “I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.” It was our pleasure to be with her last Sunday afternoon and through the night and in the paroxysms of intense suffering and once said, “How long oh Lord,” and then looked up and with a sweet trustful smile said, “It is all right, God knows best.”

Her physician visited her in the afternoon and told her that she must go soon. She asked how soon and when told perhaps it would be some days hence she said she would be patient. Five little ones are left to mourn the loss of this devoted mother. The interment was Wednesday afternoon in the old cemetery in our city. Mr. Davis will take the little ones to his home in Earlham right away.
