Mrs. Pennington Davis died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. Bishop, southeast of this city, last Wednesday morning, May 12th, and was buried at the Mt. Zion Cemetery on Thursday afternoon. Mother Davis was eighty-two years of age and was one of the early settlers of Jasper County. She was a most estimable old lady, a veritable Mother in Israel whose whole life has been filled with good deeds.
