Mrs. Charlotte Dammann, wife of Martin Dammann, died at her home in the north part of Malaka Township at noon on Thursday, Dec. 29, 1898, age seventy-two years.

Mrs. Dammann was born in Germany, but lived for over thirty years with her husband on their farm in this county. She was a devoted Christian woman, kind-hearted and lovable in character and disposition, and won the affection and good will of both young and old.

She leaves an aged companion, three sons and two daughters to mourn the loss of a faithful wife and tender, devoted mother. The funeral services were held in St. John’s Evangelical Church of Wednesday, and the remains were laid to rest in the German Cemetery near Horn.
