OBITUARY
Copeland, William

Wm. Copeland son of Isom and Mahalia Copeland was born in Henry County, near Greensboro, Indiana, January 1, 1830, departed this life July 8, 1912 at his home in Lynnville, Iowa, being 82 yrs, 7 mos, and 8 days.

He was married December 10, 1857 to Jane Rose of Greensboro, Indiana and to this union were born three children all of whom are living, Mrs. Ruth E. James of Lynnville, Ia.; J. W. Copeland of Searsboro, Ia., O. P. Copeland of Des Moines, Ia., all of whom with the wife survive. In the year of 1864 together with his wife and children they removed to Poweshiek Co, where they resided in and around Searsboro until in 1900 when they moved to Jasper Co Lynnville Ia., at the age of 30 years he joined the United Brethren Church and then after years together with his wife joined the Friend’s Church where he remained a member until the Savior called him to his reward. He was a kind and affectionate husband and father; a good neighbor and was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was one of the oldest settlers of this community,enduring all the hard-ships of life.

The services took place at his home in Lynnville Ia., July 10, 1912, conducted by Rev. Doan. The Remains were laid to rest in the Woodland Cemetery.
