Died, January 18, 1899, Eugene Doud Carnahan, aged four months, six days.

He was a cherished Treasure.
Too good, too pure for earth.
He left us in his beauty,
His innocence and mirth.
So we laid him in the graveyard,
Where the willow branches wave,
In the dark and silent grave.
With his soft hands gently folded,
Upon his lifeless breast,
And a snowy shroud around him
We laid him there to rest.
