Henry Schnathorst Rites Wednesday
Henry E. Schnathorst, 47, a former resident of Jasper County, died Thursday at the General Hospital in Hawthorne, Calif.
Funeral services for Mr. Schnathorst, a resident of California for the past six years, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Toland Funeral Home.
The Rev. Jerry Loutzenhiser, minister of the Marshalltown Church of Christ, will conduct the services. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery north of Newton.
Mr. Schnathorst is survived by his mother, Mrs. Lena Schnathorst of newton; five children, Leonard J. Schnathorst of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Gary (Linda) Robbins, Vernon Schnathorst, Darlene Schnathorst and LeAnn Schnathorst, all of Marshalltown; five grandchildren; a brother, Glen J. Schnathorst of Indianola, and two sisters, Mrs. John McGrath of Gardena, Calif., and Mrs. Gilbert Ingraham of Haverhill.
Mr. Schnathorst, a resident of Jasper County for more than 19 years, was a member of the Church of Christ.
The son of Roy H. and Lena Kendig Schnathorst, he was born Sept. 29, 1915 in Jasper County north of Newton.
He was married to Clara B. Miller Nov. 11, 1934 at Marshalltown.
Mr. Schnathorst was a hotel manager in California.
