Dean P. Anderson, 46, of Newton died Thursday, May 27, in rural Newton.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with Chaplain Merle Smith officiating. Burial will be at Palo Alto Cemetery in rural Newton.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials will be accepted in his name and may be left at the funeral home.

The son of Carl and Judy (Barnett) Anderson, he was born March 25, 1958, in Newton. He attended Newton Community Schools. On Feb. 14, 1992, he married Sheryel Spearing. He was a vinyl installer for Griffin Construction and most recently self-employed.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert Wince and Justin Hummel Anderson, both of Newton; four daughters and a son-in-law, Kari and Jed Kinon of Killduff, Kasi Hummel, Brandi Wince and Ashley Spearing Anderson, all of Newton; his parents; one grandchild; and a brother, Mark Anderson of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and a sister, Terri Anderson. ~ Newton Daily News, Saturday, May 29, 2004
