To Be Buried At Wilton Junction.
Body of Mrs. Boydston with Party Left This Morning.
Funeral Yesterday

The funeral services over the body of the late Mrs. Mary Boydston, whose death occurred last Saturday were held in the Methodist church, yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The ceremonies were in charge of Rev. W. H. Perden of the Methodist church. Music was furnished by the regular church choir. After the service the body was taken back to the home on west Main street where it remained until 8 o'clock this morning when, accompanied by relatives, it was taken east over the Rock Island railroad to Wilton Junction, Iowa, for burial. The pallbearers officiating yesterday were: C.P. Axtell, W.M. Guessford, J.D. Edge, Geo. Shenton, N. A. Price and C. A. Rinehart.

The deceased's maiden name was Mary Mahan. She was born near Xenia, Ohio, April 10th, 1830. Her parents were Jacob and Elizabeth Mahan, who moved to Bloomington (now Muscatine) Iowa, in 1843. She was united in marriage to James M. Boydston October 3rd, 1847, who died May 6, 1888. To Mr. and Mrs. Boydston were born ten children, five of whom survive the mother; Mrs. A. Marple, Pomeroy, Iowa; Mrs. Bev. W. E. Howe, West Liberty, Iowa; Mrs. L. M. Benjamin, Mrs. E. E. Lambert and Frank Boydston all of Newton.

There are twenty grandchildren and fifteen great greand children now living.

She is survived by two brothers and one sister: Hon. John Mahan, Evanston, Ill; Colonel Frank Mahan, Consul to Nottingham, Engl, and Mrs. Wm. Lovell, Millan, Ill.

Mother Boydston was really born in the Methodist church. Her father was a pioneer Methodist preacher. She has always loved the church and all branches of church work. She always had a pleasant word for everybody and was untiring in her efforts to make life pleasant for all who came in contact with her.

She was enjoying her usual good health until February 16, when she was suddenly stricken down. Later, her condition was such as to lead the relatives and friends to think she would recover; but on Saturday, March 5, she became so much worse that all realized the struggle for life was almost over. She passed away at 10 minutes after 1 o'clock Saturday, March 5, being seventy-nine years, ten months and twenty-three days old.

Thus closes a beautiful Christian life.
