William Pollard, 82, died Monday, June 21, at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Mo.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Westover Funeral Home in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Restland Cemetery in Baxter.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will be available. Memorials will be accepted to the American Lung Association.

He was born in Colfax and lived in Des Moines for more than 50 years prior to moving to Lake Ozark, Mo. He was the former owner of Pollard and Company C.P.A. firm in Des Moines. He enjoyed boating, golfing, time at the lake and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Jeanne; a daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Matt Ford of Ballwin, Mo.; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Claire Pollard of Guelph, Ontario, Canada; four grandchildren; and a sister, Ardyth Pollard of Newton. ~ Newton Daily News, Wednesday, June 23, 2004
