Jacqueline D. "Jackie" Kunzie, 75, of Newton died Saturday, May 29, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Dwight Hunnell of West Des Moines officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Powers Warren Cemetery in Runnells.
Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. Monday until the time of the service.

The daughter of George and Fern (Hunnell) Kunzie, she was born Sept. 13, 1929, in Runnells. She was a purchasing agent for Riverview Release Center in Newton for 15 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed people.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John W. and Terry George of Meridan, Idaho; two daughters, Laura McCarley of Dallas, Texas, and Jamie McGrath of Virginia Beach, Va.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six sisters and two brothers-in-law, Paula and Ross Babcock, Shirley Deering, Barbara Jean, Bonnie and Walter Reveles and Waneta Jones, all of California, and Sharon Fletcher of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Patrick Higgins; and a brother, Dale Kunzie. ~ Newton (IA) Daily News, Friday, June 4, 2004
