Helen "Jackie" Kingery, 85, of Newton died Saturday, June 5, at Park Centre in Newton.
Private family graveside services will be held at Dunreath Cemetery in rural Monroe. Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.
Friends may call from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday at the funeral home. No family visitation is planned. Memorials will be accepted to American Legion Auxiliary in Newton.
The daughter of Forrest and Hazel (Schlomer) Campbell, she was born Jan. 10, 1919, in Cherokee. She was a graduate of Cherokee High School and attended Thompson Beauty School in Des Moines. On March 11, 1937, she married Marion Kingery in Knoxville. She worked for Maytag Company for 23 years, was a member of American Legion Auxiliary in Newton and LaFemmes. She enjoy needle point, latchhook, flowers, gardening, canning, freezing, camping, fishing, the Hawkeyes, Chicago Bulls and collecting TV Beanie Babies.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Terry Dodd of Rosswell, Ga., Kaye and Jerry Postma of Rhodes and Rusti and Bill Riddle of Colfax; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Holly Campbell of Naperville, Ill.; and a brother-in-law, Gene Dorr of Eden Prairie, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her father; mother; step-mother, Marge Campbell; three sisters, Irma, Dottie and Jo; two nephews; and one niece. ~
