Sully – Helen Rozendaal, 72, of Sully died Monday, July 19, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at First Reformed Church in Sully. Burial will be at Sully Cemetery. Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Sully is handling arrangements.

Friends may call after noon today at the funeral home where the family will be available from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Memorials will be accepted to Gideon or New Tribe Mission.

The daughter of Thomas and Faye (Crandall) Rankin, she was born Sept. 15, 1931, in Marion County. She attended Attica High School and started working for Steenhoek Auto immediately following her graduation. She also cleaned several homes in the Sully area, the Sully Christian School and First Reformed Church in Sully. She was active in Golden Hour and served as a 4-H leader. She enjoyed gardening and collecting antiques. On March 28, 1957, she married Robert Rozendaal. They lived in rural Lynnville prior to moving to Sully three years ago.

Survivors include her husband, four sons and three daughters-in law, Dale Rozendaal of Lynnville, Dennis and Crissie Rozendaal of Cedar Rapids, Rodney and Dana Rozendaal of Sully, Ross and Kara Rozendaal of Prescott Valley, Ariz., a daughter and son-in-law, Marla and Eugene Sjaardema of Reasnor, 10 grandchildren, four brothers, Albert Rankin of Clarksville, Tenn., Ernest Rankin of Knoxville, Garold Rankin of Chariton and George Rankin of Orange City, and a sister, Mae Mathes of Russell.
