Mexican Dies in Tent House
Dies of Overdose of Sedative Today
An overdose of medicine was reported to have caused the death of Viviano Valadez, 60, Mexican, which occurred today at 2 a.m. at his tent home, 1026 East Eighth Street North.
Mr. Valdez, factory employee, had been ill for the last 13 months, suffering with malta fever and heart trouble.
It is believed that he misunderstood the directions prescribed with the sedative and took too much.
Mr. Valadez came here from Topeka, Kan. in 1923, and was employed at the Maytag company until his illness. He was married here to Luterea Garza in 1934.
His wife survives.
Although Dr. E. A. McMurray, county coroner could not be reached this afternoon, it is understood that no inquest will be held.

Hold Funeral Services Today for V. Valadez
Funeral services for Vivano Valadez, 60, Mexican, were conducted today at 10 a.m. from the Morgan funeral home by Rev. T. J. McCann of the Sacred Heart church. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery.
Mr. Valadez died Saturday morning at his tent home in north Newton, his death believed to have been caused by an overdose of a sedative. He had been ill for 13 months with malta fever.
There is to be no inquest, Dr. E. A. McMurray, county coroner, said today, although he is investigating the case.
