Former Newton Man Falls, Dies Near Tile Stack
DES MOINES, Feb. 27 – AP – Coroner A. E. Shaw said today the body of a man found beside a tile stack at a pipe company plant here today was tentatively identified as D. Tuttle, about 60, formerly of Newton, IA.
Shaw said Tuttle apparently slipped over an embankment, fell against the tile stack and died of exposure.

To Hold Rites in Des Moines For D. Tuttle
Funeral services for Dell Tuttle, 66, of north of Newton, who was found dead in Des Moines Saturday, will be conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. from the Harbach funeral home in Des Moines. Interment will be in Glendale cemetery.
Mr. Tuttle had been visiting in Des Moines with his two daughters, when his death occurred.
His body was found Saturday morning beside a tile stack at a pipe company plant at Des Moines. He is believed to have slipped over an embankment, fell against the stack, and died of exposure.
Surviving relatives include his son, Eldon Tuttle of Newton, Maytag factory employee; two daughters, Mrs. George Iverson and Mrs. Glen Fairchild of Des Moines, and seven grandchildren.

Son Kept From Tuttle Funeral
Eldon Tuttle is Under Quarantine For Scarlet Fever
Because he is under quarantine for scarlet fever, Eldon Tuttle was unable to attend the funeral for his father, Dell Tuttle, in Des Moines today.
The elder Tuttle, 66-years of age, died in Des Moines early Saturday. He is believed to have slipped over an embankment, fallen against a tile stack and died of exposure
Eldon is a war veteran and legionnaire and Newton post No. 111 of the American Legion planned to send six pall bearers to the funeral in Des Moines this afternoon. They are M. D. McCullough, A. O. Schermerhorn, E. B. Johnson, J. F. Riley, Charles Campbell and W. H. Burroughs
Funeral services were to be held at Hardback funeral home at 2:30 p.m. with burial in Glendale cemetery.
Mr. Tuttle is also survived by two daughters, Mrs. George Iverson and Mrs. Glen Fairchild, whom he had been visiting in Des Moines when his death occurred, and seven grandchildren.
