Former Jasper County Woman Dies at Taintor
Lynnville, IA., - Mrs. Mary Shroyer, about 75, died in the Earl Longacre home near Taintor late this morning, according to word received here. Mrs. Shroyer, a widow, made her home in Lynnville until about three months ago, when she moved to the Longacre home.
She had been in failing health recently and had been bedfast most of the time the last three months. Funeral arrangements had not been made at noon today.

Mary A. Creed, daughter of F. Sam and Jane Creed, was born in Morgan county, Illinois July 17, 1863, and came to Iowa with her parents, when she was one year old. They located on a farm in Jasper county near Lynnville.
She was married to William R. Shroyer, Oct. 20, 1881, at Newton, Ia. They moved to a farm south of Lynnville, where they lived until her husband’s death Feb. 12, 1909. She then moved to Lynnville, where she had lived since.
She died Jan. 30, following a lingering illness. She was cared for during her last illness at the home of a nephew, Earl Longaker.
Funeral services were held at the Friends church in Lynnville Monday, Feb. 1, 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Forrest Hebron and Rev. George Woods in charge.
Mrs. Will Allee and Mrs. Leo Davis sang, “The Lights of Home” and “Going Down the Valley,” accompanied at the piano by Mrs. A. F. Quire. Burial was made in the Lynnville cemetery.
