H. S. Roth, 75, Dies at Kellogg
Funeral Services to Be Held in Newton Tuesday; Burial in Des Moines
KELLOGG – H. S. Roth, 75, longtime resident of Kellogg, died Saturday afternoon at the home of his son, J. D. Roth, following a several weeks illness.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Sacred Heart church in Newton Tuesday at 10:00 a.m., and interment will be in St. Ambrose cemetery at Des Moines.
Mr. Roth was born in Allentown, Pa., Jan. 24, 1861, and came to Iowa in 1886
He was united in marriage to Anna Breen Sept. 18, 1894 and to this union three children were born, all of whom survive. Mrs. Roth died March 9, 1936.
Surviving relatives are the son, J. D. Roth, cashier of the Kellogg Savings bank; two daughters, Mary and Emma Roth, both of Kellogg; a grandson, Danny Roth, 4, of Kellogg, and a brother in Pennsylvania.

Conduct Rites For H. S. Roth
Services For Kellogg Man Held at Sacred Heart Church in Newton
KELLOGG – Funeral services for H. S. Roth, 75, of Kellogg were conducted from the Sacred Heart church in Newton Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. by the Rev. T. J. McCann.
Music for the rites included two vocal selections, “Sweet Name Which Makes the Dying Live” and “Thou Art My Hope,” by Mary Jane Castner and the organ numbers, “Meditation,” (Morrison), “Lead Kindly Light,” “Unto Thee,” and “Petition,” played by Hortense Wells.
The body was taken to Des Moines for burial in St. Ambrose cemetery. Pallbearers were F. S. Hill, H. H. Reichelt, Charles Doane, James Nesmith, B. A. Eubank and Henry Wulf.
Mr. Roth died Saturday afternoon at the home of his son, J. D. Roth, in Kellogg, following a several weeks illness.
