Orville Phillips Dies Today After Sudden Illness
Orville Phillips, 47, died this morning as the result of hemorrhages of an ulcer in the duodenum.
Mr. Phillips had suffered with ulcers for some time, and was taken seriously ill Friday morning.
No funeral arrangements had been made by press time today.
Mr. Phillips is survived by a brother, Ed Phillips of Newton, and two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Wright of California, and Mrs. Hattie Tuttle of Chadron, Neb.

Conduct Phillips Funeral Services
Newton Resident Buried Monday Afternoon in Palo Alto Cemetery
Funeral services for Orville Phillips, 47, who died Saturday, were conducted from the Murdoch funeral home Monday at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. H. LeRoy Kinser, pastor of the First Christian church.
Music was furnished by Mrs. R. S. Trevethan and Mrs. Cloyd Fahrney, who sang, “Rock of Ages” and “Jesus Saviour Pilot Me.” Lois Hundling presided at the organ.
Interment was in the Palo Alto cemetery, with the following serving as pallbearers: George Vance, G. Frank Wilson, Albert Chapman, John Richmond, O. P. Richmond and Willis Bodley.
Surviving relatives include a brother, Ed Phillips of Newton, and two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Wright of California and Mrs. Hattie Tuttle of Chadron, Neb.
