Mrs. Phillips Dies In Illinois
Former Agnes Conn of Newton Dies in Elmhurst After Long Illness
Mrs. Paul D. Phillips, 55, of Elmhurst, Ill., the former Agnes Conn of Newton, died at her home in Elmhurst Wednesday about 5:00 p.m. following an illness of over a year.
Two sisters, Mrs. Ray Swihart of Newton and Mrs. Grace Mowry of Marshalltown, and two brothers, Robert Conn of Sully, and John Conn of Newton, had been at her bedside for several days before her death.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. at the home, followed by final rites at 2:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian church in Elmhurst. Interment will be there.
Mr. Phillips is also a former Newton resident and he and his wife would have observed their thirty-first wedding anniversary Jan. 2.
Mrs. Phillips was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Conn of Newton.
Surviving relatives include her husband; two daughters, Margaret at home, and Mrs. Thomas O’Leary of Elmhurst; two sisters, Mrs. Swihart of Newton and Mrs. Mowry of Marshalltown; and four brothers, David Conn of Waterloo, James Conn of Aurora, Ill., Robert Conn of Sully and John Conn of Newton.
Mrs. Robert Thompson and Mrs. Thomas Clark, sisters of Mr. Phillips, and Harry Thompson left for Elmhurst today to attend the rites.
