Mrs. McDonald of Colfax Dies
Prominent Colfax Woman Dies Tuesday Night at Age of 43 Years
COLFAX – Mrs. Sylvia McDonald, 43, died Tuesday at 11:15 p.m. at her home in Colfax, from a complication of diseases. She had been in poor health for the last year.
Mrs. McDonald had made her home in Colfax for the last 25 years. She was the wife of Burns McDonald, salesman for the Morton Salt company.
An active member of the Eastern Star, she had served as worthy matron of Rose of Sharon chapter of Colfax.
She was also active in political circles and was republican third ward committeewoman for the last election.
Surviving relatives include her husband; her mother, Mrs. Ella Lacey of Waterloo, and a sister, Mrs. Pluma Sanders of Waterloo.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:30 p.m. from the Colfax Presbyterian church by the pastor, Rev. Theodore Morning. The Eastern Star funeral ceremony will be given. Interment will be in the Colfax cemetery.
