Carl Mann, 41, Former Newton Resident, Dies
Carl Mann, 41, former Newton resident, died Tuesday in a Moline, Ill., hospital after a few days illness. He submitted to a serious major operation May 3.
Mr. Mann was employed at the Maytag factory during his residence in Newton.
Funeral services will be conducted in Moline Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
Surviving relatives include his wife and two children, Bud and Murray.

MOLINE – Carl Lawrence Mann, 42, Fourteenth Avenue and Forty-first Street, Moline, Ill., died at 9:25 p.m., May 11, at Moline Public hospital after an illness of eight days.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, May 14, at 2:00 p.m. from the Full Gospel Temple, with the Rev. A. W. Kortkamp in charge. Burial was in Riverside cemetery.
Mr. Mann was born Sept. 9, 1894, in Williams, Ia., and was married to Clara Louise Good March 13, 1916 at Iowa Falls.
He lived in Newton for several years, where he was employed as the Maytag company, before moving to Moline in 1929. In Moline, he was employed as a machine operator by the International Harvester company.
Surviving relatives are his wife; two sons, Murray and Buddy, both at home; three brothers, Lyle, Frank and Fred Mann, all of Iowa Falls; his mother, Mrs. W. B. Findley of Iowa Falls; and four sisters, Mrs. Joseph Brady, Mrs. Archie Clark and Mrs. George Mann of Iowa Falls and Mrs. Laura Murphy of Oakdale.
