Sully Resident Dies at 69 Years
J. D. Jansen, Retired Farmer, Dies Sunday in Oskaloosa Hospital
SULLY – J. D. Jansen, 69, retired farmer, died Sunday at 7:00 a.m. at the Mercy hospital in Oskaloosa following an operation for a ruptured appendix, submitted to four weeks ago.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon from the Christian Reformed church in Sully. The time has been tentatively set for 1:30 p.m.
Mr. Jansen was born in the Netherlands and came to America in 1894, locating near Pella. For over 25 years he lived on a farm north of Sully and moved to Sully three years ago.
He was preceded in death by his wife 15 years ago and also by a daughter, Hattie.
Surviving relatives include five daughters, Coba, Nellie, Effie, Mrs. John Van Gendema and Mrs. Dick Rolffs and three sons, Herman, Garret and John, all of this vicinity.
