The funeral of Mrs. Anna May (Kinart) Hoxel was held at Monroe last Saturday afternoon at two o’clock. A large company of relatives and friends was in attendance.
Mrs. Hoxel will be remembered by many, many friends in and about Monroe for her quiet and refined manner, for her loyalty to her church, and for the good work she always did among neighbors and friends when her health permitted. Mrs. Hoxel was a member of the Methodist church of Monroe.
The Rev. Moser took for his text the 23rd Psalm – this text having been requested by the sisters of the deceased. Two songs, “Lead Kindly Light,” and “Going Home,” were sung by Mrs. Huigen and Mrs. Gloyd. The pallbearers were John Lundeen, Rex Lint, Carrol Tool, William Kinart, Doyle Kinart, and Wayne Kinart, all nephews of Mrs. Hoxel. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Emma Dearth and Mrs. Appleton.
Anna May Kinart was born March 1, 1869, near Monroe. She was the daughter of Samuel and Sarah Kinart. She was united in marriage to W. I. Hoxel November 20, 1890. Her husband was in the real estate business for many years at Monroe and Newton. He died on June 16, 1911.
Mrs. Kinart (sic) leaves surviving her son, Earl, of Indianola, and two granddaughters, Harriet and Annette. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. V. C. Shankland of Newton, and Mrs. Myrtle Tool of Reasnor, and four brothers, W. A. and James Kinart of Newton, Alf Kinart of Monroe, and John Kinart of Prairie City.
