Jack Hines, 60, Dies Sunday After Prolonged Illness
Jack Hines, 60, of Colfax, died Sunday morning at the Jasper county home, following a years illness of anemia. A resident of the home for the past two months, he had been seriously ill for two weeks.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Cutter-Hartnett funeral home in Colfax Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Colfax.
Mr. Hines, a native of England, came to the United States 30 years ago and had lived in Jasper county since. He had become a naturalized citizen of the United States during his residence here.
Surviving are a daughter and granddaughter in England, and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Eke of Newton and Mrs. John Chamberlain of Colfax.

COLFAX – Funeral services were held for Jack Hines, 60, Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 16, at the Cutter-Hartnett funeral chapel with Rev. E. F. Ruff of Newton officiating.
Mr. Hines came to the United States from England about 30 years ago and had lived since in Jasper county. He was engaged in farming as long as his health permitted. He had been ill for more than a year with anemia.
He is survived by a daughter and granddaughter in England, his wife preceding him in death, three sisters, Mrs. John Chamberlain of Colfax, Mrs. Frank Eke of Newton, a sister and brother in England.
Burial was made in Colfax cemetery.
Music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Ben Simons with Miss Leona Portugal accompanist.
Pallbearers were John and Alfred Chamberlain, Frank and Harry Eke, Vern Robison and William Pollard.
