H. S. Harp, 75, Brother of Local Resident, Dies
H. S. Harp, 75, of Meeker, Colo., brother of Mrs. E. C. Smith of Newton, died Wednesday at 7 p.m. in a Pueblo, Colo. hospital, following an operation.
His wife died several weeks ago as the result of injuries suffered in an accident when their car was struck by a truck, driven by a drunk driver. Mr. Harp was not told of his wife’s death until a few days ago.
Mr. Harp was born near Red Rock, Ia., and went to Colorado about 50 years ago. He formerly operated a stage coach line between Meeker and Rifle, Colo., but in recent years had operated a cattle ranch near Meeker.
Surviving relatives include two sons and a daughter; his sister, Mrs. Smith of Newton, and two brothers, Thad Harp of Rifle, Colo., and Dr. J. F. Harp of Prairie City.
