Stroke Fatal to Jacob Hann, 86, Tuesday Evening
Jacob Hann, 86, long-time resident of Jasper county, died Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. at the Jasper County Home, following a stroke of apoplexy, suffered Jan. 27.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. from the Rorabaugh school house by the Rev. H. Leroy Kinser, pastor of the First Christian church. Interment will be in the Rorabaugh cemetery.
Mr. Hann, who formerly lived in the Rorabaugh neighborhood southwest of Newton, had been a resident of the home for the last 10 years.
He is survived by a brother, Joseph Hann, of Seymour, Ind.

Hann Funeral Rites Held at Rorabaugh School
Funeral services for Jacob Hann, 86, a long-time resident of Jasper county, were conducted from the Rorabaugh school house Friday at 2:00 p.m. by the Rev. H. LeRoy Kinser of the First Christian church.
Mrs. Roy Baty and John Hitchler furnished the music for the rites, singing “Going Down the Valley” and “Laying My Treasures Up There.” Mrs. Wilford Bond played the accompaniment.
Interment was in the Rorabaugh cemetery, which Mr. Hann had taken care of for years before leaving that neighborhood. Pallbearers were Stewart McCollough, Howard Wilson, Drew Coughman, Lorin Dodd, R. E. Bond and Robert Wilson.
Jacob Hann was born in Ohio July 27, 1850, and came to Jasper county, Iowa, when a young man. He continued to live in Jasper county until the time of his death, with the exception of a short period of time at Spencer, Ia.
Mr. Hann never married, but lived with and worked for different families in the Rorabaugh community. For the last few years, he had lived at the county home where he died Feb. 16, following a stroke on Jan. 27.
He is survived by a brother, Joseph Hann, of Seymour, Ind.
