Thomas Gearhart Dies At Baxter
BAXTER – Funeral services for Thomas Gearhart, 61, who died here at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Virgil Jontz, Thursday, Dec. 23, were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Ira Methodist Episcopal church.
Thomas Jefferson Gearhart, son of Sarah and Frederick Gearhart was born near Ira, April 21, 1876.
He was married to Estella Logsdon, Oct. 25, 1894, and to this union were born nine children, two of whom preceded him in death – an infant son and Walter, 3. Those surviving him are Verne of Stahl, Mo., John of Ira, Loren and Patrick of Baxter and three daughters, Mrs. George Bucklin and Mrs. Virgil Jontz of Baxter and Mrs. Edd Taylor of Monroe.
Carl Gray was in charge of funeral services. Music was provided by Esther Gray and Doris Gray.
Pallbearers were Edward Bucklin, Walter Taylor, Buster Gearhart, Jack Gearhart, George Bucklin and Tommy Bucklin.
