Mrs. Du Mond, 49, Dies Early Today
Wife of Cutchall Motor Company Manager Dies After Long Illness
Mrs. Charles Du Mond, 49, wife of the new manager of the Cutchall Motor company, died today at 9:30 a.m. at her home, 426 West Third Street South.
Death was due to a heart attack, following a lingering illness. This is the second death in the family in about two weeks as Mr. Du Mond’s father, E. D. Du Mond, died in Waterloo Nov. 24.
Funeral services will be conducted at Finchford, Ia., Sunday at 2:00 p.m. and interment will be there.
Mrs. Du Mond has been a resident of Newton less than two months, having come here late in October to join her husband. The latter assumed managership of the local motor company Oct. 7.
They moved here from Davenport, where Mr. Du Mond had been associated with the Strieter Motor company for 12 years.
As Bertha Luella McBride, Mrs. Du Mond was born at Shell Rock, Ia., June 22, 1888, and was married there Christmas day, 1906, to Mr. Du Mond.
Mr. and Mrs. Du Mond lived in Dubuque for seven years, before locating in Davenport 12 years ago.
Surviving relatives include her husband; three children, Mrs. Evelyn Lorenz of Davenport, and Ray and Marie, both at home; her mother, Mrs. Thressa Yoakum of Des Moines; two brothers, Leslie McBride of Sioux City and Wesley McBride of Cedar Falls, and a sister, Mrs. Anna Waterman of Cedar Falls.
All of the immediate relatives have arrived in Newton, including Mr. Du Mond’s mother, Mrs. E. D. Du Mond of Waterloo.

Brief Rites Here Sunday Morning For Mrs. Du Mond
A brief prayer service for Mrs. Charles Du Mond, 49, wife of the new manager of the Cutchall Motor company, will be held at the Morgan funeral home in Newton Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
Final rites will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Finchford, Ia., located 15 miles northwest of Waterloo. The Rev. Mr. Court of Waterloo will be in charge of the services.
Mrs. Du Mond, resident of Newton about six weeks, died Friday morning at her home following a long illness.

Conduct Services For Mrs. Du Mond
Prayer Service Held in Newton, Followed by Rites at Finchford, Ia.
A brief prayer services for Mrs. Charles Du Mond, 49, was conducted from the Morgan funeral home Sunday at 9:30 a.m. by Dr. Harry J. Findlay, pastor of the First Presbyterian church.
Following the local service, final rites were conducted at 2:00 o’clock from the Evangelical Lutheran church at Finchford, Ia., by the Rev. Frank A. Court jr., of Waterloo. Interment was in the Finchford cemetery.
Mrs. Donald Whittaker sang, “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere,” accompanied at the organ by Marion Siepert.
Those serving as pall bearers were C. A. Stevens, M. J. Ford, J. I. Summers, L. E. Adams, C. E. Gorrell and R. D. Luther, all employees of the Cutchall Motor company, of which Mr. Du Mond is manager.
