BAXTER – Lillie F. (Parish) Dawson was born at Belvidere, Ill., Feb. 7, 1869, and when two years of age moved with her parents to Black Hawk County, Iowa.
She was united in marriage with Isaac M. Dawson, on Dec. 25, 1888, and they began their married life in what is known as Iowa Center, in Story county. Later they moved to the vicinity of Baxter, Ia., but left this section in 1917 and moved to a farm north of Manchester, Ia., where Mrs. Dawson died June 8, at the age of 69 years, 4 months and 1 day.
She is survived by her husband, Isaac M. Dawson, of Manchester; two sons, Frank of Baxter and Morris of Manchester. Two brothers, Frank Parish of Redwood Falls, Minn., and Henry Parish of Cascade, S.D.; four sisters, Mrs. Hattie Lint of Maxwell, Mrs. Nettie Cooper of Des Moines, Mrs. Mattie Kellum of Caldwell, Neb., and Miss Grace Parish, of Pasadena, Calif., and five grandchildren.
Mrs. Dawson became a member of the Bethel Wesleyan Methodist church many years ago and still retained her membership there at the time of her death.
Funeral services were conducted from the Congregational church in Baxter by the Rev. B. W. Northrop, pastor of the church.
The music was furnished by Louise Goodwin and Mrs. C. F. Weeks, who sang, “No Night There,” “The Vacant Chair” and “Abide With Me,” with Mrs. E. J. Goodwin, accompanying.
Burial was at Peoria cemetery near Maxwell with the following serving as pall bearers: Fred Connelly, G. C. Butler, C. E. Davey, Will West, Arch Donaldson and Mart Perry.
