Visitor in City Dies of Stroke
William W. Cole, 73, of Los Angeles, Dies in Des Moines Hospital
William W. Cole, 73, of Los Angeles, Calif., visitor in Newton for over a month, died Saturday in the Iowa Methodist hospital as a result of a stroke.
Mr. Cole, who with his wife had been visiting with her mother, Mrs. Emily Dennis in Newton, was enroute to Des Moines Friday by car when the stroke occurred.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. from the Harbach funeral home in Des Moines by a Des Moines Elk lodge, of which he was a member. Burial will be in the Newton Union cemetery.
Mr. Cole and his wife had visited in Newton each summer during the past few years. Before her marriage, Mrs. Cole was Laura Dennis, a native resident of Newton.
A sister, Dr. Belle C. Davis of New York, survives in addition to his wife.
