Former Resident of Newton Dies at Rock Island
Ruth Bryan, formerly of Newton, died of pneumonia Sunday, Jan. 17, at a hospital in Rock Island, Ill., according to word received by a sister, Mrs. Doretta Buttery, and an aunt, Mrs. O. M. Pearson of Newton.
Miss Bryan was formerly employed at the Washer City restaurant and at the lunch room at the Multhauf Service station. She came to Newton last July to visit her aunt, Mrs. Pearson and found employment here. She went to Rock Island two weeks ago.
She was buried Tuesday, Jan. 19, at her childhood home at Stahan, Ia.
Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Bryan, live at Stahan.
