A. J. MAIN DIED OF HEART ATTACK FRIDAY AFTERNOON

A. J. Main, 61, died Friday afternoon at 4:45 p. m. at his home in Altoona from a heart attack. Mr. in had been a resident of Colfax vicinity all his life until moving to Altoona six years ago.

Andrew Jackson Main, youngest son of Rezin L. and Nancy Decker Main, was born at Prairie City, Ia., on May 30, 1886, and passed away at his home in Altoona, Iowa, on day, January 16th, 1948, at the of 61 years, 7 months and 16 days.

He was united in marriage to Ina B. Ferguson May 6, 1908 at Colfax, Iowa. To this uni6n were born children. Those surviving are his wife, Ina, three sons, Ernest of Newton, Dale of Colfax, Harold of Altoona and two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Duckett of Altoona, and Betty at home, 1 sister, Mrs. Gertrude Cross of Long Beach, California, and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mrs. Katherine Haines and one brother, V. D. Main.

He was a life member of the Methodist Church of Colfax, also a member of the Moose Lodge of Des Moines. His entire life was spent in the vicinity of Colfax, except for the past 6 years he resided in Altoona.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Methodist Church in Colfax with the Rev. Paul Potter officiating.

Music was furnished by Mrs. Earl Plummer, Mrs. George Rinker and Jean Binkerd, organist.

Pallbearers were: William Bailey Stewart Ferguson, Oris Richardson Clifford Thompson Robert Thompson and Burris Thompson.

Flower committee - Mrs. Dave Owens and Mrs. L. P. Hausner.

Burial was had in the Colfax Cemetery. ~ Colfax Jan 1948
