SARASOTA, Fla. -- Bud Haunsperger, 92, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Kellogg, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004.

Burial will be held at a later date at Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg. The family requests memorials to be directed to the Kellogg Historical Society.

The son of Simon and Elizabeth Haunsperger, he was born Nov. 6, 1913, in Alton, Ill. He married Alma Godfey of Grinnell in 1937. He was a long-time resident of Kellogg, where he was employed by the Midwest Metal Stamping Company for 38 years. Following his retirement, he worked at Ahrens Mfg. in Grinnell for seven years. He and his wife moved to Sarasota, Fla., in 1977.

Mr. Haunsperger was a 60-year member of the Kellogg American Legion and a member of V.F.W. Post No. 3233 in Sarasota, Fla. He attended the Incarnation Church in Sarasota.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Thomas of Sarasota; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Al and Joyce Haunsperger of Newton; and one sister, Pauline Welle of Newton.

KELLOGG — Simon "Bud" Haunsperger of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Kellogg, died Sept. 28, 2004, in Sarasota, Fla.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 19, at 10 a.m. at Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg. Military rites will be presented by the American Legion and the VFW.
