GRINNELL -- Esther Izora Cunningham, 92, of Mayflower Care Center in Grinnell, formerly of Kellogg, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at the center.

Funeral services were held today at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Morris Hurd of the United Methodist Church in Marengo officiating. Burial was at Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg.

The daughter of Thomas and Anna Myrtle (Noel) Coburn, she was born Feb. 14, 1912, in Montezuma. She attended Grinnell area schools and Rock Creek Country School No. 5. On Oct. 12, 1927, she married Charley Cunningham in Des Moines. She was a homemaker and worked for the Maytag Hotel restaurant and Midwest Metal Stamping Company in Kellogg. She was a member of Kellogg United Methodist Church, Kellogg Museum Auxiliary and United Methodist Women. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and travel.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Myrtle and John Henning of Hartwick and Charlotte Barge of San Diego, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 28 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a great grandchild, five sisters and four brothers.
