Sara Christine Decker, 87, of Newton died Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, at her home.

A private family service will be held. Burial will be at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery. Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements. Memorials will be accepted in her name.

The daughter of John and Agnes (East) Wiehl, she was born July 2, 1917, in Caudill, Kan. She was a homemaker and became a resident of Newton, when she moved here following her marriage to Clifford P. Decker in Lincoln, Neb.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Steven L. and Dixie L. Decker of Newton; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Warren and Bernice Wiehl of Kentucky, Ralph and June Wiehl of Kansas, Zane Wiehl of Texas and Laverne Brue of Arizona; and a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Harry Jones of Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Carl, LeRoy, Milo and Lewis Wiehl; and a sister, Wilma Wiehl.
