Florence Marie Wilson, 81, of Heritage Manor died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Dan VerWoert of the Assembly of God Church in Grinnell officiating. Burial was at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials will be accepted in her name.

The daughter of Lawerence Bertison and Marie Goehanoor, she was born July 12, 1923, in Anita. She attended school in Mingo. On April 25, 1942, she married Guy Wilson in Princeton, Mo. She worked in production for Thombert Inc. and retired in 1973. She attended Newton Foursquare Church and was a member of Rebecca Lodge, Newton Moose Lodge, Pocahontas Lodge, O and E Club, Navy Mothers and Kiwanis. She enjoyed fishing, camping, bingo, collecting bells and loved animals.

Survivors include her husband; a god-daughter, Luella Bragg of Grinnell; four god-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and two half-sisters, Louise McGinley and Sandy Bowers, both of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two half-brothers, Carrol Deaton and Russell Deaton.
