Joyce Ann Larsen, 55, of Newton, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, in the Monarch Wing of Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 1 P.M., Friday, December 31, 2004 at St. Mary Our Lady Of Fatima Catholic Church in Portsmouth, Iowa. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Portsmouth, Iowa.

Friends may call from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M., today at the Pauley-Jones Funeral Home, 1304 Ninth St., Harlan, Iowa. Family will greet friends from 6-9 P.M., today at the church. A rosary will be held today at 7 p.m. at the church. Friends not able to go to Harlan or Portsmouth may sign a register book from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.

Memorials will be accepted to Hospice of Jasper County and may be left at Wallace Family Funeral Home.

The daughter of Mick and Alma (Arkfeld) Bruck, she was born Aug. 30, 1949, in Harlan. She graduated from St. Mary's Panama-Portsmouth Catholic School in 1967. On September 6, 1969, she married James P. “Jim” Larsen in Portsmouth. She was a childcare provider for 30 years.

Survivors include her husband James P. (Jim) Larsen of Newton; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Jeff Martin of Newton; her 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Corey and Jen Larsen of Newton and Brook and Jen Larsen of Davenport, Iowa; 7 grandchildren; her father, Nick Bruck of Portsmouth, Iowa; 5 brothers and sisters-in-law, Nick and Linda Bruck of Bettendorf, Iowa, Ron Bruck of Lincoln, Nebraska, Bob and Linda Bruck of Black Earth, Wisconsin, Rick and Laurie Bruck of Gretna, Nebraska, and Randy and Julie Bruck of Portsmouth; her 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan and Steve Ingram of Gretna, Nebraska, Jolene and Todd Roecker of Atlantic, Iowa, and Janet and Rick Guse of Omaha, Nebraska; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Darrel and Agnes Larsen of Harlan, Iowa; and her several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and mother.
