Katherine D. Lambert, 64, of Newton died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004, in the Monarch Wing of Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to Hospice of Jasper County.

The daughter of Nove McConkey and Vivian Tipton, she was born Jan. 26, 1940, in Milan, Mo. She worked as a dietitian/cook for Heritage Manor Care Center for 14 years and retired in 2003. She enjoyed NASCAR racing and was a Chicago Cubs fan. She also enjoyed making Christmas candy.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Dale Conklin of Storm Lake; a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Kathleen Hegwood of Newton; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her mother, Vivian McIntire of Newton; sister, Donna Northcutt of Newton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, stepfather, Lloyd McIntire, and a sister, Connie Pickett.
