DES MOINES -- Robert Wayne Johnson, 73, of Des Moines, formerly of Newton, died of cancer Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday a 1 p.m. at Palo Alto Cemetery in rural Newton.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Care University Chapel in Des Moines.

He was born and raised in Newton, was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing. He was a realtor for Iowa Realty and ran the B & C Johnson Tire and Auto.

Survivors include three sons, Calvin "Cal" of Anamosa, Carl of Des Moines and Logan and his fiancé, Twilla H. of Winterset.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Johnson, and his parents.
