Frances M. Hobbs, 86, of Rock Creek Lake in rural Kellogg died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Syd McCrorey of Community Heights Alliance Church of Newton officiating. Burial was at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the American Heart Association, American Lung Association or American Cancer Society. Memorials may be left at the funeral home.

The daughter of Eugene and Lura (Luddington) White, she was born July 20, 1918, in Lorimer, and on Oct. 20, 1934, she married Robert W. Donahue. She worked for 40 years at Winpower as a supervisor in the factory and retired in 1984. She enjoyed fishing, bowling and flower gardening. She was a member of the Jasper County Bowling Association, American Legion Post 111 Auxiliary and VFW Post 1655 Auxiliary.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Bobbi and David Hobbs of Rock Creek Lake in rural Kellogg; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter in infancy, five brothers and a sister.
