Mary Frances (Hood) Finley, 72, of Chillicothe, Mo., formerly of Newton, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004.

There will be no services. Her body was cremated.

Memorials in her name may be sent to Hospice of Jasper County, 204 N. Fourth Ave. E., Newton 50208.

The daughter of Herman and Eva Hood, she was born Oct. 31, 1932, in Newton. She attended school in Newton and later moved to Missouri.

Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Daryle Whalen of Newton; a step-brother, George Strawer of Austin, Texas; James, a young man she raised; and several nieces and nephews.
