KELLOGG -- Joan E. (Lockwood) Hannah, 64, of Kellogg died Monday, Oct. 25, 2004, in the Monarch Wing of Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Greene with the Rev. Ashok Pater officiating. Burial will be at Hampton Cemetery in Hampton. Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends. Memorials will be accepted to Hospice of Jasper County or to the American Cancer Society.

The daughter of H. Fred Lockwood and Gladys Marsh, she was born April 23, 1940, in Marble Rock. She was a graduate of Greene High School in Greene and attended a business college. On June 12, 1987, she married Richard Hannah in Des Moines. She was a bookkeeper at the Central Counties Co-op in Kellogg.

Mrs. Hannah was a member of Kellogg United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening. She lived in the Newton and Kellogg areas since 1980.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Dan Vining of Mason City; a step-son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Shelley Hannah of Kellogg; three daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy Jensen and special friend Tim Wygle of Greene, Sally and Tracy Starr of Clear Lake and Sue Smith of Ionia; a step-daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Greig Shine of Kellogg; eight grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; her mother, Gladys Hitzhusen of Greene; step-mother, Ardis Lockwood of Charles City; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Patty Lockwood of Charles City, Jim and Jan Lockwood of Hiawatha, Dean and Ann Lockwood of Sioux City and Lee and Tammy Lockwood of Hayti, S.D.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; stepfather Leon Hitzhusen; stepbrother, Jan Hitzhusen; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Lockwood.
