Visitation: Friends may call after 5 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home. The family will greet friends from 6-8 P.M., Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at the funeral home.

Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M., Thursday, October 28, 2004 at the Wallace Family Funeral Home

Interment: Immediately following the service on Thursday, October 28, 2004 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in rural Kellogg, Iowa.

Those left to honor Anna's memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Jann Broyles of Newton; 2 daughters and son-in-law, Karen and Al Van Genderen of Newton and Sharon Postels of Newton; her 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; her sister, Edna Lee Minter of Des Moines, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Veldon in 2002; 2 sons, Veldon Dean and Danny Gene Broyles; 5 brothers; and 4 sisters.

Anna was a homemaker and had also been a nurse’s aid at Rest Haven/Shaw's Nursing Home.

Memorials to the American Diabetes Association or to Hospice of Jasper County may be left at the funeral home.

Anna R. Broyles, 77, of Newton died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Edwin Bausell of South Dakota officiating. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in rural Kellogg.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to the American Diabetes Association or to Hospice of Jasper County and may be left at the funeral home.

The daughter of B. Forrest and Ada (Meeks) Bonnett, she was born Sept. 21, 1927, in Duncan Township in Sullivan County, Mo. On Oct. 5, 1946, she married Veldon Gene Broyles in Green Castle, Mo. She was a homemaker and a nurse's aid at Rest Haven/Shaw's Nursing Home. She moved to Newton in 1948.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Jann Broyles of Newton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Karen and Al Van Genderen and Sharon Postels, all of Newton; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Edna Lee Minter of Des Moines; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Veldon Dean and Danny Gene Broyles; five brothers; and four sisters.
