Buried at the Old Home

Mr. James Bishop, who for many years resided on a farm near Galesburg, died at Manning in this state, on Saturday, Jan. 1st, and the body, accompanied by three daughters of the deceased, arrived in Newton Monday evening and were interred in Mt. Zion Cemetery on Tuesday, near the old home where so many years of life had been happily spent. Mr. Bishop was 78 years of age. ~ The Newton Record, Newton, IA, Thursday, January 6, 1898
