Maxine L. Bishop, 88, of 200 S. 8th Ave. E. died of congestive heart failure Saturday, Feb. 9, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Pence Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements. Memorials will be accepted in her name and may be left at the funeral home.

She was born Jan. 20, 1914, in the Lynnville-Sully area and graduated from Lynnville Sully High School. She married Chance Leroy Bishop in Newton. She worked as a general laborer for Winpower Manufacturing and attended Willowbrook Adult Day Care.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law Butch and Linda of Mitchellville, a daughter and son-in-law, Pat F. and Junior Reynolds of Newton, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a granddaughter. ~ Newton Daily News, Newton, IA, February 11, 2002.
